Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!!!

Artist Statement

It’s been almost 40 years since my last visit to the Big Easy. The last time I was in Nola I was a young man.  I was there for Mardi Gras.  This time around I wanted to capture some images of the city famous for its culture, food, music and its people.

As I walked about the streets of New Orleans, the vibrancy of the city was electric. The city is old … you can see it in its architecture.  The people talk of houses being haunted, voodoo and pirates roaming the city.

The French Quarters… no other two words can bring give you a picture of a city.  Great food, jazz music, a great time and Mardi Gas.  No other city in the U.S. has the same kind of history, culture and it’s next level food.  New Orleans has a certain kind of magic about it.

Artist Bio

Hi, I’m Saul.  Thank you for taking the time to visit Photography by Cintron. I’m an African-American born in Brooklyn now living on Long Island.

I mainly photograph landscapes, fine art, and some street photography.  When I take photos, I try to use it as a learning experience for my photographic journey.  I try to tell a story when creating a visual image.

I’m mostly a self-taught photographer.  However, I’ve taken a few online courses with Magnum Photo photographers.  I’m a member of both fotofoto Gallery in Huntington, NY and Long Island Photo Gallery in Islip, NY, and I have participated in many photography exhibitions over the years including Long Island Photo Gallery, Salmagundi Art in NYC, Lens Culture in NYC, Art League of Long Island, fotofoto gallery, Henry Street Settlement NYC, Islip Arts Council, The Town of Oyster Bay Rotational Artist Program and Brentwood Public Library.
