Led by fotofoto gallery artist Alli Rufrano, “Human Presence in the Photographic Image” is an incredibly unique workshop opportunity allowing photographers to reflect who they are through the examination of others.
“The use of the human figure as an expressive force in visual communication is emphasized. Exercises are created to develop one’s awareness of the human presence in the contemporary photographic image and its relationship to space, time and movement. The towns and hills of Umbria, Italy will be the backdrop as participants interpret their subjects with renewed creativity, while developing an individual style and sensibility. During the week long photo festival, based in the medieval city of Gubbio, participants concentrate on the expressive role of the photographic medium while developing new friendships with unforgettable experiences. Participants are required to bring cameras, tripods and laptops to process and edit their photographs for output. A print portfolio of 10-15 images is required to participate. The course will include lectures and field trips, shooting and editing, critiques and individual evaluations. The workshop will conclude with an exhibition of student work and a farewell dinner.”
