A passionate image maker for over forty years, Joan Powers has had more than twenty-five solo exhibitions and numerous group shows in the United States, Asia and Europe.
After receiving her M.F.A. in Photography from the City University, she launched her professional career as a commercial photographer. In 1981 she began teaching at Long Island University/Post where she is a Senior Professor and the Director of Photography.
