A sinister side that by social standards is not considered the “norm” and frowned upon by the majority as “weird.” \nGRiM is a series of photographs that explores the inner demons of human nature\, exposing these morbid fascinations as something complex\, beautiful\, and ultimately human. \nAbout the ArtistA fotofoto gallery and Soho Photo gallery artist\, Paul Mele is a photographer living and working on Long Island. His photographs often illustrate time’s way of imposing it’s will upon all things and the wreckage it leaves behind. To achieve his vision Paul shoots\, edits and prints all his own work. Gordon – Artist Statement – “Orchids Extraordinaire”My dear mother’s passing five years ago has left a deep hole in my life.  This hole has become fertile to many seeds that have flourished in it.  Loss can become an illuminating light in one’s life-like orchids in the night. \nAbout the Photographer My name is Andrea M. Gordon and I have owned Universal Touch Professional Massage for the past thirty-two years.  I am a Licensed Massage Therapist who has had a passion for healing through Medical/Relaxation massage therapy. It is for this reason that my hands have become my “eyes” and “ears” and have taught me to “see” and “hear” my patient’s body. Later in life I found another passion that inspired a dance between my eyes and hands.  Photography. I always have had a fascination with perception and the reality that we can all “see” and “sense” the same things differently. Moments of perception create our lives and I found that my hands behind my camera offered me the opportunity to embrace all that life offers. My eyes see the world and with a stroke of my camera I can hold that moment in time forever. My exhibit Orchids Extraordinaire is a gift from my mother whose passing five years ago left me on a highway without pavement. I had saved her orchid plant and through the years there were no blooms… until it gave me a shoot with six buds of which four actually took flight in the corner of my living room.  It was an incredible shoot\, every evening documenting their metamorphosis from as many angles as was their splendor.  They mirror my dear mother in every way.  And my heart is full.  Enjoy our journey. This yearly historical event\, the Independence Day Invasion and Parade\, is the creme de la creme of creativity and excitement\, with drag queens showing off their fabulousness for all to see. The tradition began in 1976\, as a protest when one of the ‘Queens’ was refused service at a Pines establishment. What soon followed was a water taxi carrying several drag queens\, dressed in full regalia\, to ‘invade’ the Pines\, in their self-made costumes.
