Susan Kravitz, one of our fotofoto gallery artists, has been featured in a New York Times “Lens” blog. Her “short but sweet” photography exhibit “Remembering the Grove” was on display in August at the Cherry Grove Community House on Fire Island. Nineteen images from Sue’s collection are now presented here in “A Gay Haven on Fire Island”, story by John Leland.
Congratulations to Susan Kravitz on this wonderful feature of outstanding photography!

July brings an exciting new group exhibit to fotofoto gallery – “An exhibition of large proportions…the only rule was make it big!”
“Space is an inspirational concept that allows us to dream big”, says Peter H. Diamandis, founder and chairman of the X PRIZE Foundation and co-founder of Singularity University.
Our summer exhibition, entitled “BIG”, celebrates our 11th year with BIG works filling our gallery. Each of our artists will be represented by one large-sized image, be it digital or analog, traditionally presented or utilizing a non-traditional method. Documentary, street, conceptual, impressionistic, architectural, portraits, landscapes…it is the coming together to celebrate the idea of big in a very BIG way.
No other photography gallery on Long Island comes close to fotofoto’s longevity or diversity of vision. Not only have the fotofoto gallery artists dreamed BIG but they bring their dreams to reality in a big way in this exhibition.
Enter the fotofoto gallery space and venture into to this creative universe.
The diversity of gallery artists will be evident and on full display beginning Saturday, July 5th and running through Sunday, July 27th, 2014. The opening reception for “BIG” will be held Saturday, July 12th from 5pm – 7pm.
In addition there will be a gallery talk Sunday, July 27th at 2:00pm to explore the creative process of photography and the opportunities that fotofoto gallery offers serious photographers. As always, admission is free and open to the public.
Hope to see you there!

The public is invited to a slide presentation at the library Bay Shore – Brightwaters Public Library on Thursday, June 12th, 2014 at 7:30pm. Local Photographer and fotofoto gallery artist Holly Gordon will share her shooting techniques and tips. This presentation is a must see for gardeners, garden lovers and photographers alike.
Perennial favorites taken with Kodak film more than a decade ago are fresh and vibrant. Recent works created in camera in Monet’s renowned garden, Giverny, France reveal her love affair with color and light. In Monet’s journal, Gordon read, that he was good at two things: gardening and painting…and she immediately saw an intimate connection as she was an avid gardener and painter long before she chose to focus on the camera for all her creativity. Her most current works are images digitally created with the use of NIK filters. The seeds of these blooms may have been planted in soil years ago, but fertile cyberspace has allowed them to germinate now…and it is ripe for viewing.
