Ralph Masullo’s interest and passion in photography has been pretty much life-long. It developed along with his first B&W print at the age of twelve in a make shift basement darkroom. This passion led to a 30-year career as a professional photographer. The majority of this career has been devoted to working commercially, producing still-life images for advertising and editorial purposes. Ralph’s client list included names like AT&T, American Express, Citibank, Chase, Moet Hennessy, Nikon, Sony, Toshiba, Visa, & Ziff Davis Publishing to name a few. His commercial work has been called “stunningly handsome”, bold, colorful, and fun a reflection of his personality.
About 10 years ago he began to shift his interests in photography away from the commercial world looking to devote more time to work as a fine artist and find new ways to apply his photography skills. It was also at that time when Ralph began his involvement with photography education. This shift in interest within photography has revitalized his passion for the medium and provided renewed level of excitement similar to the first one.
Ralph Masullo received a BFA degree in photography from The School of Visual Arts, in NY and his MFA also in photography from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Ralph is located in NYC where he currently teaches photography as an adjunct professor and works as a photographer for the NYPD.
