AndreaMGordon-HEARTFELT Patchogue

Beginning Monday, March 17th and running through Sunday, March 30th, FotoFoto Gallery members will be exhibiting works at ArtSpace Patchogue.  This is a special, two part collaboration of 38 photographers from two unique Long Island galleries.

There will be an opening reception for this event on Saturday, March 22nd from 7pm until 9:30pm.  Admission is free and all are welcome.

ArtSpace Patchogue:  “In the Village of Patchogue, a Long Island community about 50 miles east of New York City, is a new five-story building with 45 affordable live/work spaces on the upper floors and The Patchogue Arts Council and The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center at street level. Located in downtown Patchogue, the $18 million project represents both economic revitalization and the opportunity to strengthen a growing arts community; many Main Street storefronts are now occupied by artists and creative businesses. We broke ground in January 2010 and completed the project in early 2011.  The Gallery at Artspace Patchogue is a 2000 square foot space which allows resident artists, local, national, and international artists a chance to share their works with the local community and visitors from all over.”

FotoFoto Gallery:  “Founded in October 2003 by a group of Long Island based photogaphers desiring to promote experimental and traditional photographic processes and visions. The gallery is located at 14 West Carver St. in Huntington, NY.  In 2010, fotofoto was awarded status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our purpose is to conduct a cooperative photographic gallery dedicated to the encouragement of the artistic development of photographers, without limit to subject matter or technique; to serve both its members and the public by organizing exhibitions, lectures, critiques, demonstrations, seminars and instruction; and by the sharing of experiences both at our current location and at locations outside of our physical space.”

Following this exhibit, FotoFoto Gallery will play host to the ArtSpace photographers at our gallery in Huntington.  Part two of this collaboration runs from April 4th through April 27th, with an opening reception Saturday, April 5th from 7pm until 9pm.  As always, this is a free event and all are invited to attend.
